Welcome to Generations Estate Planning

We at Generations Estate Planning offer a number of services that aim to protect you and your family and help you plan for the future.

We assist clients all over England and Wales and if you are in need of a personalised, professional service then we would love to hear from you.

We can ensure your wishes are appropriately recorded by drafting a Will, and if needed, also by setting up a Lasting Power of Attorney so that decisions about your finances or health can be taken by those that you choose. We can also assist with Trusts to protect your interests and those of people you wish to leave assets to.

Generations is committed to offering expert advice to our clients and their families; the Generations team have a wealth of experience and expertise in Financial Services that they bring across to the Estate Planning industry so you can be sure you are in safe hands.

The directors are all advisers at J Finance and Generations was set up in response to many clients looking for assistance with their estate planning. Therefore, should you require it, our team are also able to help you with financial advice on a wide range of matters.

Our legal team, who we instruct to complete client documents such as Wills and Lasting Power of Attorney applications, are members of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives which ensures their work is of a high standard and they are up to date with changes to laws or legal processes.

We charge per piece of work undertaken for a client and should you decide you need assistance with several areas that we work in, for example a new Will and creation of a Lasting Power of Attorney, we are able to offer discounted fees. Please contact us to discuss our fees. All prices are agreed and a Client Agreement signed before commencement of work so you are fully in control of the process and there are no hidden costs later down the line.

Our Services

Will Writing

We appreciate that whilst some clients may have quite detailed estate planning requirements and require an appointment with a specialist to discuss their situation; others may have a relatively straight-forward situation and that is why we have developed an Online Will Writing Service.

This service allows you to dictate how your estate would be distributed including choosing guardians for children under 18, leaving gifts to loved ones and appointing executors.

Where it would not be suitable to use, would be those wishing to leave property in trust, perhaps for children from previous relationships, those who need to exclude someone from their estate planning or those who require Inheritance Tax planning advice.

Step 1 – Complete our online questionnaire in under 30 minutes

Step 2 – Your Will is drafted by our legal team and emailed to you to check you are happy with the content

Step 3 – Your finalised Will is either emailed to you to print and sign or it can be printed and posted for an additional £4.99 P&P.

You may either store your Will yourself or store it at a Government facility at cost: HM Courts and Tribunals Service

Future amendments are charged at an hourly rate of £50 per hour, with most amendments taking no longer than 1 hour from start to finish.

Power of Attorney

When preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney documents on your behalf, we gather all the information needed for our legal team to prepare the Lasting Power of Attorney forms for you and register them for use with the Office of the Public Guardian. There are two types of Power of Attorney – a health and welfare LPA and a property and financial affairs LPA. They each have different uses, contact us to discuss your needs and allow us to quote for the work involved in setting this up on your behalf.
